THANET WANDERERS FIRST TEAM COACHES for the 2021/22 SEASON

Mike Pond, pictured on the right, will continue to head the first XV coaching team for the third season. He will be joined by Elliot Blackmore, in the middle of the group, as forwards coach. Elliot has previous coaching experience for Gravesend and Old Williamsonians and is now resident in the local area, where he is delighted to join his local club. A familiar face completes the group on the left, Gareth Redmond is well known within the Thanet Wanderers club after a distinguished playing career. He will be the senior group’s conditioning and fitness coach and is determined the Thanet squad will the fittest in their leagues.

There has been an excellent turnout at the twice-weekly training sessions and there was a very encouraging performance in the pre-season game against Dover. The first league fixture against Old Colfeians, who just missed out on promotion in the last completed season, will be a testing one. Wanderers certainly appear better equipped to compete in this tough league, with greater strength in depth in some of the key positions, than in recent seasons. The same can also be said of the second XV who also open their season, at home. against Dover on Saturday (Kick Off 3 PM)

The action on field will be complemented off it by the annual Paul Keohane Sports Fund Lunch where John Keohane and his fellow trustees will be aiming to raise funds to support the schools' coaching.
