COVID-19 Update

Hi All,

As you will be aware, the new coronavirus, officially named Covid-19, has now been declared a pandemic emergency by the World Health Organisation.

We just want to ensure you are aware we are monitoring the ongoing situation, and whilst we want to continue playing and training where possible, ensuring the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and members is our priority.

Currently official advice from the RFU is that rugby continues as normal, with any cancellations being made at an individual club/fixture level. So, if you have any queries or concerns please speak to your team manager in the first instance.

It must be emphasised that the risk to individuals in the UK catching Covid-19 is currently moderate. People should continue as normal, taking the sensible precautions outlined in the official advice, particularly if you have travelled to any of the affected countries and areas. Thus, we just want to remind you of the official NHS and Government advice and the sensible precautions everyone can take in order to minimise the risk of contracting Covid-19.

Wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
Always wash your hands when you get home or into work
Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
Put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth
