Few connected with Wanderers today can remember a time when Geoff was not in the forefront at Thanet’s rugby union club. Whether as a player or administrator Geoff has been a leader at the club. Never was this more apparent than when, as the club’s Chairman, he single mindedly led the club’s renaissance after a disastrous fire had destroyed most of the old clubhouse. His dedication and determination led to the building of the fine premises that Wanderers now call home and which are a fitting legacy to pass on to future generations.

Geoff announced recently that he intended to resign his remaining senior player registration duties at the club which will now be carried out by Michelle McLean and Michael Whitehead.

On Saturday 18th September, after the first league match of the season, Club Chairman Chris Panteli presented Geoff with a unique certificate that named him as a club legend. He was also presented with a coaches coat and a bobble hat to ensure he can continue to be on the touchline to support the club he loves. Long may his voice be heard in the support of Thanet Wanderers.
