Schools and Community Update - Secondary Schools

Our Schools and Community Secondary Schools Coaching team have had a great week in the lead-up to half-term. We have delivered 23 hours of curriculum lessons to children in 4 schools; with class sizes averaging 30 pupils, this means we have delivered 690 Pupil-hours of dedicated coaching. Additionally, our coaches ran Rugby Hub sessions for boys and girls, supported the great work of RHA’s boys at their game against Dane Court and helped Hartsdown’s U13 team prepare for their game against Canterbury. This week’s curriculum sessions ranged from handling and evasion techniques to playing full Touch Rugby games.

Highlights from this week were witnessing the extraordinary progression of the girl’s hub players as they moved into games of full Touch Rugby, being part of the excitement of Hartsdown’s game against a visiting Canterbury team and having our Hub boys cool down after training while watching their Hub-mates in a hard-fought game between RHA and Dane Court. Rugby is alive and well in Thanet!
