Following Saturday's match between our Second XV and East Peckham RFC Club Secretary Peter Hawkins has received the following email from Andy Bodle the President of East Peckham. Thanet Wanderers President Peter Dickinson has responded and his email is also below I have been asked to email you following this week's match. Apparently the vice captain states that it was the worse weather conditions he has played in. He is still young however! The lads wanted me to send you and the club a message of thanks for your hospitality, in particular for lending a couple of players when we turned up short (and please do thank them both specifically on our behalf), for the most welcome trays of teas and coffees at half time and for making us feel so welcome in the clubhouse afterwards. The match was played in excellent spirits I gather and personally I am delighted that my boys have paused to think and realise that it's never about the result but more about sportsmanship and comradeship in rugby. Thank you all very much indeed. I was at the game yesterday and despite the howling gale, rain and cold both teams served up some very entertaining rugby, much in the spirit of the Barbarians game being shown in the clubhouse.
