One of the objectives of the Paul Keohane Memorial Fund is to assist young sportspeople from the Isle of Thanet who need help to achieve their sporting goals.
James Barnes Miller who is 28 and originally from Broadstairs is a talented snowboarder with his eyes set on participating at the pinnacle of his sport by competing at the Winter Paralympics to be held in South Korea in February 2018. James, who was born without a right hand, had his preparation for the competition badly disrupted in late October when £10,000 of custom made equipment was stolen from his van parked at Disley near Manchester.
When the appeal for funds to replace the equipment came to the attention of the administrators of the Paul Keohane fund they were quick to react and at the Thanet Wanderers clubhouse on Saturday 11th November a donation of £1200 was pledged to help this young Thanet Sportsman achieve his dream.

The Paul Keohane Memorial Fund was set up in memory of Paul who sadly died far too young two years ago. He attended Chatham House Grammar School and was himself a talented sportsman who played for Thanet Wanderers. The next Memorial Lunch will be held on March 3rd 2018 at the Thanet Wanderers Clubhouse.
