Thanet Wanderers 3's 13-20 Dover Sharks 3s

A well contested game ended narrowly in favour of the visitors.

Dover's full back showed good pace to run in from distance and then converted for an early 7-0 lead. The double sin-binning of father and son Cary and Kieran Wright spurred on the remaining thirteen Wanderers. A penalty from Neil Roby followed quickly by a try from speedy seventeen year old Noah Flete on the left wing put Thanet into the lead. Dover hit back with a penalty and a drop goal to go in front at half time by 13-8.

Six minutes into the second half Roby brought the scores level with a try wide right after combining well with Sam Rolfe. Dover quickly regained the lead with a converted try and despite going down to fourteen men at one stage hung on to win 20-13.

Andy Flete joined his son Noah for a cameo performance during the second half for a one off as senior team mates. Congratulations to Tank who forsook the front row to show his skills at scrum half. Cary Wright required specialist treatment to an injured finger but the news is positive.

The first XV are back in action next Saturday 9th December at home to Bromley who are just a couple of points behind second placed Wanderers. Please be there to support, Kick off is at 2PM.

Both 2s and 3s have away fixtures at East Peckham and Sittingbourne.
